Quick post to let people know that you can now buy RSABOUT gear at Venture Cycles in Noosaville, Queensland. Owners Jeremy and Chris have a great range of bikes for most types of riding, with a particular interest in mountain bikes as can be seen in the photos. Oh yeah, that’s Jeremy, the owner, screaming over a huge step down on his downhill rig.
Venture Cycles is at 2 Venture Drive, Noosaville Qld 4556, telephone 07 5444 6655.
It’s been a bit quiet here lately and still not much to post. Bruce and his boys competed at the ACT BMX titles held last weekend at the Tuggeranong BMX track. No action shots of Bruce as he must have been riding too fast. Well not fast enough because a couple of guys finished ahead of him in the final. Still, much better than I would have achieved.
I tried to add up the years of the guys in the photo below and ran out of fingers and toes pretty quickly. 40-44 Cruiser final. The other photo is Bruce’s son James powering along on his Crupi race bike.
Here’s a quick bit of footage of one of Luke’s runs at the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink BMX Games held in Melbourne recently. Thanks to Daniel for uploading it to MySpace.
The CX Games 2008 were held in China last year and whilst searching around for some other footage I came across this small video on the CCTV website. Kind of reminds me of some of the old school freestyle BMX shows with Andrew’s showmanship.
Bruce Watman is a good friend of RSABOUT and gave the brand plenty of exposure in the Track Attack BMX racing series held across six track in Melbourne, Victoria recently. He was racing in the 30-44 years cruiser class that featured a number of very fast riders. By combining skill, luck and persistence he managed to take out first place for the class. Well done Bruce.
If you were to count up the total age of riders in the last photo it’s probably about the same as the total of all the other younger classes. Thanks to Ian for the photo.
BMX team rider Luke Parker entered the Junior Park class and from what I guess to be around 30 riders he qualified 5th for the final in the Saturday session. Come Sunday morning it was the finals and two, one minute runs counting by using the average. Most riders were concentrating on the top part of the course and only doing a couple of tricks down on the street section. Good thing really because from where I was I couldn’t see that section very well. The final result for Luke was 6th (I previously wrote 5th) in the final.
Unfortunately Andrew Gul injured his knee earlier in the week and wasn’t able to ride. Oh well, hope it is better for Cam White’s Hillside Jam.
Here’s a few photos of Luke from the Saturday qualifying and Sunday final.
We’ve added three new large RSABOUT logo t-shirts to the range. These probably represent the last of the logo t-shirts (for now anyway) and new releases will be less about the RSABOUT logo and more about the designs. Stay tuned.

Team rider Luke Parker is racing the first four rounds of the Track Attack 2009 series before trying his hand at the BMX Games on the weekend. As I sit here writing this post round 3 is underway. I thought it best if I didn’t go to this round as I’m not sure I’m a good influence on Luke. I went riding on Saturday and called in afterwards to check out the end of the racing. I arrived just in time to see Luke go down in the second corner of his semi and miss qualifying for the final. No pictures so I though I’d head out Sunday to watch round 2. Get a good position near the first corner only to see Luke go down in the first corner of his first moto. Not a good start to the day and with the competitive A Pro class that makes it all but impossible to progress out of the motos. Oh well, better luck for the rest of the races Luke.
Bruce Watman was also sporting the RSABOUT colours and he and Paul Morris was having a great battle. Good to see an older guy giving the youngster a run for his money.
Thanks to Mark and Ian for the photos as all the ones I took were useless!

Team riders Andrew Gul and Luke Parker will be competing in the BMX GAMES to be held at Melbourne Docklands over the Australia Day long weekend from 24-26 January. More information about session times can be found at the BMX Games website.
It will be an especially busy week and a half for Luke who is racing A Pro in the first few rounds of Track Attack 2009 then putting the race bike away and grabbing the street bike for the BMX Games. More details can be found at the Track Attack 2009 website.
When Luke and I were first talking about sponsorship I said I’d like regular updates of riding photos so I could included them in the news items. This isn’t what I had in mind though. It is the result of a failed whip air at the Box Hill skatepark. Ouch.
