Luke Parker at Lilydale skatepark
12 December 2008 by james and filed in BMX TeamYesterday I went out to Lilydale skatepark where Luke and a few of his mates were riding. After coming off at the end of a no hander of the spine, on his second jump for the camera, he came back and gave me plenty of great shots. Here’s just a sample.
Victorian Open BMX Championships
11 December 2008 by james and filed in BMX TeamLuke made the long drive up the road to the Border BMX club at Wodonga for the Victorian Open BMX Championships a couple of weekends ago. As many people do, he pulled out the 24″ cruisers as well and the 20″ even though he doesn’t race it often.
In the 20″ motos he managed three firsts, a second and a third which was pretty respectable. The quarter final was a bit more challenging after he hit the gate on the way out and managed to recover to take second. Another bad start in the final and was shut down in the pack. All was not lost though as a few ran wide in the first corner and up to fifth and then to fourth which he held until the finish line.
Luke’s cruiser race sounds a bit like the ones I used to race. In the final people were crashing everywhere and he managed another fourth place. Sometimes just staying upright pays off.
All in all a good weekend’s racing and a couple of 4V plates in two of the largest and most competitive classes is a great effort.
Rebelyell BMX Magazine – Issue 7 photos
9 December 2008 by james and filed in BMX TeamIf you haven’t picked up issue 7 of Rebelyell BMX Magazine then head out to your local newsagent and check out the photos from the recent VIP Party at Rampfest in Melbourne. There’s also a couple of shots of RSABOUT team rider Andrew Gul, although this was just before he signed on. A huge nothing over the spine and also a superman over the same spine.
New team member Luke Parker
24 November 2008 by james and filed in BMX TeamI’ve known Luke for a while now through the Eastfield BMX club and was always impressed with his racing. Only recently I became aware how much style he has on the dirt jumps and skateparks. Therefore I’m happy to announce that Luke is the newest member on the RSABOUT BMX team.
More about Luke soon, so as an introduction, here he is at Camberwell skatepark in Victoria.

RSABOUT products at Rampfest
20 November 2008 by james and filed in ProductsApologies for the delay in announcing that RSABOUT products are now available in the shop at Rampfest in Melbourne, Victoria. If you haven’t heard about Rampfest it is a huge indoor skatepark with so many lines you will just sit there working out what to try first. Add a foam pit and resi to the mix and great for busting out those new ideas without putting the body on the line straight away.

More details about Rampfest at their website so head on over the Rampfest for more information.
New team member Andrew Gul
7 November 2008 by james and filed in BMX TeamIt is taking a while to find the right people for the rsabout team and I’m pleased to say we have the first rider on board. Andrew Gul made it official yesterday. Andrew is a Melbourne local and also rides for the Mongoose Australian team. Look out for more of Andrew very soon.
In the interim, here’s a few of photos from the recent CX Games in China where he took out first place in the park event. Great stuff.

4th Australian Vintage BMX Gathering
2 November 2008 by james and filed in BMX, EventsIt all started back in November 2005 with the first Australian Vintage BMX gathering and after trips to Terrigal and the Gold Coast it is back in Melbourne with the 4th Australia Vintage BMX gathering for all the old school BMXers. The first one had a good turn out with most people getting to put names with faces for the first time. It’s now to the point that these gatherings are a chance to catch up with friends made over the years, show a few new (well old) BMXs and generally have a great time. Saturday afternoon at the Knox BMX track and see the flyer for more details.
